Based in Lincoln Nebraska, Tall Mountain Oats is a small batch retail coffee roaster
Tall Mountain Oats was established in June 2019. Owner and Operator, Bailey J Ahlberg is a graduate of the Great Plains Culinary Institute at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, NE. After earning her A.A.S. in Culinary Hospitality Management, she began operations for Tall Mountain Oats by spearheading the opening of a coffeeshop on her college campus. Because she was surrounded by the school atmosphere, she then was compelled to complete her A.A.S. in Business from Southeast Community College as well.

Share More Knowledge
With each of our coffees, we provide you with as much information as we can about the product you are purchasing. This includes, where it was grown, at what altitude, about the producers, the processing method, the plant varietal, and what to expect regarding flavor, mouthfeel, and acidity.
It is important to us that our customers have access to all the information we do as roasters. We want you to not only enjoy the coffee you're drinking, but to understand everything there is to know about it.
With the access to information and knowledge that we as a society possess, we believe sharing knowledge can and should be common practice.
Sip Better Coffee
Tall Mountain Oats is all about making coffee that you want to take the time to enjoy. We want you to sip, taste, and love the entire cup.
Additionally, it is extremely important to us that the coffee you love is also better for the world. Our air roasted, environmentally conscious, sustainability focused coffees exceed industry standards.
Subsist The Day
subsist[ suhb-sist] verb
to continue in existence, especially independent existence.
Foundationally, our mission is to continue to exist, while creating a sustainable and continually improving world than we have previously existed.
WHY TALL MOUNTAIN OATS?
From a Swedish origin, the last name of our founder, Ahlberg, means TALL MOUNTAIN. Additionally, we sell high quality, mountain grown coffees.
But what about the OATS? Initially, this was a play on words of mountain goats, which if you believe the stories, were the ones who discovered coffee in modern day Ethiopia. If the stories are true, the translation for what we call coffee today used to be known as the OATS OF THE MOUNTAIN.

I bought the African Mountain Blend (medium roast) beans from Tall Mountain Oats last weekend and it was delicious! Did a chunky grind and made a fantastic cold brew. The mix of flavors was spot on. I highly recommend supporting local and will buy again!

The aroma alone is amazing!! That was even before we actually made coffee! I would recommend this to everyone with taste buds! Absolutely delicious!
Terra Westerholt
Amazing coffee. I made a pot of it at work and just the smell had my coworkers asking where I got it. This coffee is top quality and has such a full range of rich flavor notes while still being as smooth and easy to drink.
